Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN, working as an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. She's the daughter of the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first job as a producer assistant at Univision Miami, where she was a producer of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her first job was as reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. In 2009, the reporter moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley, Texas, where she became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Also, she would fill in on occasion as a weather and sport anchor. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's Dallas-affiliate station. She was also given more accountability. She wrote pieces on the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She also produced Univision 23's local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. As a sports anchor she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. Her older sister is also hers. The family moved to Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. Soon after they separated, and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. It was on a holiday in the summer that she lived with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten the job. Antonietta was a senior high school student, but she was very aware of her career goals. She went to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school was suitable for her. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she wanted. She completed her schooling and was accepted to the University with a degree of media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the director of WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. He inspired her to be self-confident and his passion in journalism was a huge influence on her, and she determined to live up to his expectations and never fail him.
